Vera Westera graduated from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Arnhem and the Messiaen-Akademie (Netherlands) with excellence. In consequence, she won the highly endowed De Roos-Gesink Prijs for all arts in 1998, the price of the audience at the Nederlands Jazz Vocalisten Concours in 1999 and the VSB Music Award as the best soloist at the Leidse Blues and Jazzfestival. With the CD Raging Low of the band B1 her intense cooperation with Bojan Vuletic started. Besides other recordings she can be heard on the new CD 'Zoom Zoo' of composer Martin Fondse (with the Groove Troopers). |
